New Posters for our New Digs at the Old Post Office

In early 2020, AbelsonTaylor moved into a brand new office space (for a few weeks at least) in the historic “Old Post Office” building. Leading up to the move, we wanted to build excitement for our new location and a connection to the iconic o†ce locations of our past. Enter: our Postage Stamp Poster Challenge.

The following posters garnered excitement among our colleagues, clients, and industry about our exciting future while paying homage to our iconic past.

Exploration Phase

AbelsonTaylor has been located in four different iconic landmarks in Chicago. At our founding in 1981, our first home was in the London Guarantee & Accident Building: built in 1923 and home to a famous jazz supper club, The London House.

Forty years and three moves later, we made the leap to the newly renovated Old Post Office. Built in 1921 and expanded in 1932, it’s a sprawling Art Deco building with a footprint equal to four football fields. In its heyday, it was the largest post office in the world, and handled a massive volume of packages for Chicago mail-order giants like Sears Roebuck, Montgomery Ward and Spiegel.
